Chelsea Whyte is a multimedia journalist from Portland, Oregon.

She began her career in journalism with contributions to The Somerville News, a weekly newspaper published outside of Boston. She left her local Arts & Events beat to pursue a master’s degree from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University.

While in Chicago, Chelsea produced audio, video, photography, infographics and articles for the Medill News Service, a daily commercial wire service staffed by Medill graduate students. As a science reporter in the Chicago newsroom, Chelsea covered Astronomy and Emerging Technology, and her reporting took her to CERN for a week of coverage on the Large Hadron Collider. Chelsea finished her time at Medill News Service with a stint at the Washington, D.C. bureau, covering science policy, biotech, and nutrition and exercise.

She most recently worked as a reporter for New Scientist magazine in London, covering a wide range of science topics including physics, chemistry, technology, environment, biomed, and wildlife.
