Frequently Asked Questions
What is psychotherapy?
Also known as 'talk therapy,' psychotherapy is a collaborative mental health treatment with an emphasis on a supportive working relationship. Broadly speaking, therapy is aimed at bringing about positive changes to a client's thoughts, feelings, behaviours & social relationships to improve their day-to-day functioning and relieve emotional distress.
What can I expect in my first session?
Our first meeting (also known as an 'Intake Assessment') is a chance to get to know each other!
Will my insurance cover my sessions?
Most health care plans cover at least a portion of psychotherapy services. Please check your plan to see what is covered.
I do not bill insurance companies directly at this time. Detailed invoices are sent to you following each session which can then be submitted to your provider.

What are the fees?
Each 50-minute session is $160 (HST included). Credit card or e-transfer payments are accepted.
How long does therapy last?
There is no great answer for this one as it really is different for everyone. Clients are encouraged to set their own pace; sometimes it can be a few sessions, other times it can be years! Typically, most benefit from more frequent visits in the beginning (e.g., weekly or bi-weekly) and gradually spread out their appointments over time; others book as needed. In other words, you get to decide the pace, frequency and duration of therapy.
How do I get started?
You are invited to phone, email or fill out a contact form below. Once we're connected, we can set up a free 15-minute phone consultation if you'd like to see if we're a good fit before booking your first appointment. Then, we can schedule an intake session depending on your preferences.
